Shell and tube heat exchanger is the most widely used indirect heat transfer equipment in industrial field, manufactured per GB/T151 and TEMA standards.

Working Principle

Two fluids flow separately through tube side and shell side, heat transfers via tube wall without mixing. Baffles inside shell force turbulent flow to improve thermal efficiency.

Main Types

  1. Fixed tube sheet: low cost, for clean medium & small temperature difference.

  2. Floating head: bundle removable, easy cleaning, suitable for fouling & corrosive fluid.

  3. U-tube: resist high pressure, free thermal expansion.

  4. Finned tube type: high efficiency, extended heat transfer area, ideal for gas-liquid waste heat recovery.
